SOLLC Music & Arts Lakeside Studio
Children's Theater

The Lakeside Studio is excited to announce a new Children's Theater Winter Workshop called "Winter One Acts from the Sparks Bible"! This 6-week program is open to children in 2nd-8th grade and will include rehearsals on Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of theater through this unique program.  There will be music incorporated throughout these plays - but students can choose if they want to speak, sing, or both!

WHEN:

  • Auditions: Sunday, January 26th from 3-6pm

  • Rehearsals: January 30 - March 13. Sundays from 3-6pm and select Thursdays from 6-8pm

  • Preview: February 27th 6:30pm at the Winter Showcase Concert at SOLLC

  • Performance: Friday, March 14 at 6:30pm

We are also looking for dynamic leaders, young adults and up, to help with various aspects of the production, including set design and building, costume design, prop management, and overseeing the younger children during Sunday rehearsals.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performers – Choose to sing & act or just one. Be a part of the show in what you feel comfortable with. We would love to have you.  Age grade 2- grade 8.  

  • Photographer – Must be 18 years of age or older. We will want this role to be present during rehearsals, previews and the main event. You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule. 

  • Set Designer – Grade 9 through Adult - Volunteer opportunity. Set Design experience preferred but not required. You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule. 

  • Set Construction – Grade 9 through adult. Volunteers needed to make the set.  Building the set, painting the set. Woodworking experience preferred but not required. You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule. 

  • Lead Costumer - Grade 9 through adult. Sewing experience preferred. Creative mind a plus! You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule. 

  • Costume Construction – Grade 9 through adult. Volunteer opportunity to make costumes. You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule.

  • Props – Grade 9 through adult - makes a list of all props and designates who will get the props. Creative mind is a plus! You will work with Kari Vaupel to coordinate what works for your schedule. 

  • Small Group Leader – Grade 9 through adult. Would need Sunday afternoon availability the most, occasional Thursdays. Would love availability during preview night and final performance as well. This role will be working with our youngest performers, keeping them busy during down time and overseeing their needs.

  • Ushers – Grade 9 through adult. Required to be at performances and hand out programs and show where things are in the church. Performances – 2.27.25 & 3.14.25
