Looking for ways to share your gifts of service within the walls of SOLLC? Volunteer with one of our many ministries.
Serve Communion During Worship
Each Sunday we will need 1 team lead and 8 communion servers to help with serving communion. The team lead will be responsible for setting up the communion stations and will need to arrive prior to the service to allow time.
Sunday School Volunteer:
Interested in leading a Sunday School group? You do not need a child in the program to be an adult leader. Please contact Andrea Sheridan for more details.
Living Water Volunteer:
Living water is our middle school faith formation program. Adult Leaders are truly the backbone of the program and are incredible witnesses of faith in action! There is no prerequisite for being a leader. We provide you with all materials, training, and support to make a deep and lasting impact in the lives of our middle schoolers. Helping Hands:
Helping Hands is a life group and a service team rolled into one. Our Helping Hands team provides various types of support and maintenance around the SOLLC building and grounds. Some of their past projects include painting, repairing, organizing, gardening, mulching and creatively solving needs from each ministry. If you have time and passion for this type of service, please reach out to Keith Wanttaja.

The work we do with the CAP Agency assists and empowers individuals and families to achieve social and economic well-being in partnership with our community.
How Can I Help:
1) Volunteer at the CAP Food Shelf.
2) Volunteer at the CAP Thrift Store.
3) Donate Non-Perishable Food. Please place your food donations in the bin located in the coat closet near main office at SOLLC.
Community Plate
SOLLC, in partnership with Smoke Signals 501c3 Non-Profit, is working to combat food insecurity and gather all people for food and fellowship. We will offer a free monthly community meal the last Thursday of each month from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Volunteer to help prepare, serve, set up, or clean up this meal. Next Community Meal is February 27th, so please spread the word and join us!
SisterLink
Sister Link is a service group at SOLLC that provides support for the residents at Passageways
(a shelter for trafficked teens and young adults ages 13-24). Our team supplies and leads craft and
cooking activities as well as fun and fellowship. This group also facilitates the Gift Link program. Learn more or contact Laura Aase to get involved.
SOLO Project Food Pantry
SOLLC is partnering with Scott County to build a 12-14 unit apartment complex supporting families experiencing housing insecurity. The complex will include a food pantry providing the residents with fresh and shelf stable groceries, as each apartment will include a full kitchen. We are developing a long-term support plan to stock this food pantry to support families during their stay. Please consider volunteering when this ministry opportunity kicks-off in 2025-26.
